The First Record, Time, the First Interacting Dynamics and the Gap to the Hot Universe
Jonathan Washburn
Preliminary manuscript · Not peer reviewed · 28 October 2026 · 250 pages · Cosmology and the origin of time
Asks what can be derived about how the universe formed, and what came before the hot early universe, starting from recognition rather than from a hot initial state. On an account ledger the start is balance, not nothing: the empty record costs nothing, and the beginning is itself a premise that no shift-invariant law forces. The cheapest change is one unit post. Under two adopted premises, on a carrier where its bond is a bridge of weight one, the first event with its reciprocal costs √5 − 2. Under four adopted premises one recognizer has exactly one law, and the arrow of time sits in its record, not its state. On a clock–photon lattice with supplied data the book proves regional stability, a dynamics of the whole lattice at every clock strength and, with the clock off and the registers filling their directions, the dephasing of register coherences. The proved chain stops before any thermal or expanding phase. The book states that gap as an exact ledger, keeps conditional and measured values apart from predictions, and names fifty-five open problems.

Asks what in the recognition ledger's own dynamics makes a perspective, for the native recognition step. Boundaries are exact superselection sectors fixed at genesis for the native event algebra. Inside them the postings select: exactly four states of the 64-dimensional cell never acquire neutral weight, and these are the states that pass the eight-tick window with certainty. On every network of contacts in its round order the kept states obey a parity law and composition creates no kept weight. A participant's own record decides its status, the present's long-run chain is reversible exactly on the participant classes, and every record reads each site within the same twelve directions. The full manuscript gives every proof and table, locates each stated premise, including contact timing, event attachment, the present-cell reading and the experiential reading, and states every open problem exactly.
Recognition, Necessity, and the Physical Foundation
Jonathan Washburn
Technical book manuscript · 25 October 2026 · 155 pages
A technical account of what comparison and retained records require. The book builds the objects, proves the forcing arguments, and follows their physical conditions through the foundational scale question.
Distinction, Arithmetic, and the Limits of Abstraction
Jonathan Washburn
Technical book manuscript · 28 October 2026 · 240 pages
Builds arithmetic from repeated distinction and tracks what additional logical principles supply. The argument continues through effective descriptions, approximation and finite physical records, keeping the hypotheses of each construction explicit.
Physical Structure, Agency, and the Conditions of Living Together
Jonathan Washburn
Preliminary book manuscript · Not peer reviewed · 2026 · 357 pages · Ethics and economics
Develops ethics as the physical structure of relations, actions and their consequences. Love's conserving repair connects fourteen virtues to care, consent, authority, resources and shared life. Worked examples and formal propositions retain the conditions of each result and identify the connections still to be completed.
